Perfect

Fuck. why?

I avoid using the word perfect, for one because it is overused by those who have given the gravity of perfection too lenient a definition. Second, because I struggle myself to not nullify the existence of any perfect in the first place.

If it is mean to without flaw, does that include the possibility of a flaw? Or a flaw in some slightly varied context? Can a ‘flaw’ include just a preference? Meaning each idea of ‘perfect’ is subjective, which I would then argue is no longer perfect but merely best suitable for one’s own needs at a given time and place, which hardly sounds perfect to me. Intuitively, ‘perfection’ has some omni-perfect quality. A perfection of time, place, and person that reaches an objective divine quality of sorts. That is perfect to me.

So it may well not exist or is at least unattainable or unrecognizable by non omniscient beings. It’s similar to a pure concept of nothing, or a non-mathematical, philosophical concept of infinity. Both of which are hard to say exists at all.

So for these hangups, I rarely use the word perfect in any serious sense. It seems almost dangerous to assign ‘perfect’ to anything without being overtly hypocritical, but instead almost satire as that can’t be taken seriously.

Ahh, what a perfect blog post I just wrote…
