Ambition

Fuck. why?

Within my conspiratorial depths I find that I - among others who are deemed as particularly capable in the realm of society - am demanded to embrace becoming an empty vessel of ambition. To wholly adhere to a task at hand and commit to carrying out its’ means and ends. The fortunate among these selected are assigned to task with considerable intellectual or philosophical merit and one could argue that success is landing in any configuration that quiets your inner skepticism.

Ambition in and of itself isn’t a vice, if that was the suggestion above. Even the very state of ambition might be good, I’d say. Instead, ambition is fuel for effort. Independent of their results, implications, or planning. It is not mutually exclusive with those things, but oftenn chosen instead and with enough haste as to have forgotton what you may have left behind.

“Ambition is good! (So long as you can sustain it… and it’s ends are aligned with society writ large… and are recognized for it in a timely manner… and are willing to sacrifice in favor of it… to any extent deemed necessary by those possibly external to you)”

However, ambition independent of some larger social structure/approval often finds itself the target of grave concern; in ties with conspiracy; aims unknown and dangerous if left alone. To this end, I will grow weary defending this ambition as I see more untapped potential here than in the silos of empty vessels moving about.

Ambition itself doesn’t become laziness if it fails to be validated by others. It’s effort that results from ambition and should be the subject of inquiry. I am pro-independent ambition, regardless of it’s aims. I think adequate effort toward digging a hole to the heavens is worthy, despite its aims a mystery and methods seeming madness to me.

Make it a beautiful hole and make it with your soul. I didn’t bring my shovel but certainly won’t stop you.
